Current Mood: Cool & Bored

The weather so far this week has been less then desirable.I don’t think the sun has come out for more then a few minutes since Sunday. Plus its been raining off and on so going outside to play is on hold till the weather clears which should finally be tomorrow. We where all doing okay till today and Lizzie and I are starting to go stir crazy. Matt could care less thankfully. Will does not teach class tomorrow so I think we will try to get out and do something tomorrow even if the weather is still crappy. The good part of being in side this week is I have gotten caught up on a lot of house work.

I have also been trying some new recipes for supper. So far Will has liked them but the kids don’t seem overly impressed. Here are Will and Lizzie checking out the adds after supper on Monday.

My big project yesterday was rearranging the living room. Took me some time but I am happy with how it turned out.

As you can see I took the gate down between the playroom and the living room. It may go back up but we really don’t use that one anymore and its really nice because it opens the area up a little. Its kind of weird to have the sofa sticking out like it is but its growing on me.

We can always move things back the way they where if we don’t like it. Well Matt is up from his nap so I better be off.

The months before Matt was born I tried to get a feel for what it was going to be like having two kids so close in age. I talked to some friends who had kids close as well as tried to prepare myself for it. Looking back I can say you really can’t prepare. Now that Matt is one I feel like I am “me” again. Everyone told me the first year is the hardest and boy are they right. We got through it of course but I can’t believe how difficult it was. I literally fell like I walked around in a fog last year.The sleepless nights and all the fun that come with a new baby added to caring for a toddler. Now that Matt is crawling and very close to walking I feel like things are getting into a more “normal” normal. I can once again do dishes and fix meals with out a crying child. Now Matt will just follow me around and play in the kitchen while I work. After breakfast they both play together(well sort of  )while I do dishes.

As sad as it is to see my final baby start to become a toddler I am excited. I can start to look forward to new things with my kids. Once Matt goes down to one nap in the coming months I hope to get back to bible study and maybe join or start a play group. I also look forward to family vacations other then going to visit family. I love that my kids are close in age. I don’t think I could handle getting out of the baby phase completely for a few years and then having a baby. I love my kids but am not a newborn person. Of course there are and will always be days where I will want to pull my hair out but its just different now. Lizzie is becoming for independent by the day and Matt’s personality is coming out more and more each day.

Well my time is up for now. I will say even though the first year was hard I would do it again in a heart beat.

I gave Lizzie some applesauce with her lunch. She only ate a little of it and since Matt was going to eat lunch soon I left it on the table. I had pushed it over by his booster chair. While I was starting to get his lunch ready I peaked around the corner and saw Lizzie plopping spoon fulls of applesauce on the floor for Matt. He was trying very hard to eat it. I should have snapped a picture but at the time it was a ahhh moment! I am also well aware this is only the beginning of stuff like this.. Lots of fun to follow I am sure.

Current Mood: Happy & Relaxing

I have had a busy day but I feel like I got a lot done. I went grocery shopping this morning and it was a big trip. With both our trips pretty much back to back I only got enough groceries the last time to get by so today was stock up day. When I  got home Will and I worked at getting everything put away as well as getting the kids lunch.I then worked at reorganizing the back area where we store some of our can goods and the kids snacks. I am happy with how that turned out. I then got the dinning room and kitchen sweeped and worked on mopping it while Lizzie and Matt took naps. I also got the bills paid during nap time. Once the kids where up I vacuumed the playroom and living room. I then made supper which was nothing special just mac and cheese. After supper while Will was playing with the kids I got all the beds changed so we all get fresh sheets tonight.

Once Lizzie is in bed I plan to make some popcorn and relax on the couch and enjoy some T.V.

Will starts teaching summer school on Monday so things will be getting into a routine again which will be nice.  Well I am off to relax.

A year ago today Matt came home from the hospital after spending 4 long days in the NICU.

Well we are home and its hot! It was 90 yesterday and going to get up there again today. The trip was okay. The kids where glad to get home and so was I. I will get some pictures up in the next few days. I need to head to the kennel here to get the cats and then I need to get some laundry done and get the house in order. Fun fun.

We are heading to Wisconsin tomorrow and will not be back till the 23rd. I will not have internet while we are there but once we get back I will get back into a better pattern of posting. See you all next week.

O and I CAN NOT believe Matt turns one on Monday!

Lilacs are my favorite flower and they are in full bloom right now and so very pretty. After being stuck in the house for 3 days and ending with a failed attempt at potty training it was time for Lizzie to get some outside time so while Matt was napping we went outside. I took a ton of pictures of my gardens and will post them later. Lizzie was enjoying the lilacs so I let her have one.

She loved it. I told her we would take it inside and put it in a vase…

That did not last long she just loved it so much. So I told her she could take it into the living room while I went to get Matt up from his nap.

Silly girl.

Well we started potty training Lizzie today. We actually started yesterday after her nap because she wanted to wear her big girl panties. Its not going to well but its only the first day. I will say I am thankful for mostly hardwood floors.

I also wanted to share a website with you. Its something I have always wanted to do. Its a cooking blog. I hope to add recipes when I have the time. Forgive the grammar and spelling of the first few posts. I typed the last one up fast since Lizzie is napping at the moment. You can comment or leave recipes you think I might like. I hope to add a lot more as time goes on. I like to see pictures of recipes so I am trying to snap pictures when I can or go back and add them. I have a great cake recipe I hope to add tonight. Anyway here it is.
